OID (symbolic): CLJ8500-MIB::prtchannelprotocolversion

Description: The version of the protocol used on this channel. The format used for version numbering depends on prtChannelType. Additional information: This object, in conjunction with prtChannelType, replaces the PML object PORTn-DESCRIPTION.

MIO-based channels provide their own values. The channel 1 value includes (separated by semi colons) different aspects of the spec: electrical;logical; and physical connector.

What is prtchannelprotocolversion?

This read-only field reports the version of the protocol in use on a given print data channel, with its exact format depending on the channel's prtChannelType. An admin uses it alongside prtChannelType to pin down exactly which protocol revision a channel is running, which matters when a specific protocol version is known to have compatibility issues. For example, the description notes channel 1's value packs several semicolon-separated protocol aspects together, so an admin reading it would need to parse out each field rather than treat it as a single simple version string.
