hrstorageused

Module: CLJ8500-MIB

OID (symbolic): CLJ8500-MIB::hrstorageused

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.3.2.3.1.6

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: The amount of the storage represented by this entry that is allocated, in units of hrStorageAllocationUnits. Refer to RFC 1514, Host Resources MIB, for more details. Additional information: This object returns the amount of memory in use by the printer at the current time. This object should not be used when creating a print job for the device because the amount of memory in use will likely be different when the printer processes the print job.

What is hrstorageused?

This read-only integer reports how much of a given storage pool, such as RAM, is currently allocated at the moment it is read, expressed in units of hrstorageallocationunits. The MIB itself warns that this value should not be used when deciding whether to send a print job to the device, since the amount of memory in use can shift from one instant to the next as the printer processes other work. For example, an admin building a capacity dashboard could chart hrstorageused over time to spot memory-pressure trends, but a print driver checking it right before submitting a job could still get a stale reading.
