OID (symbolic): CLJ8500-MIB::hrdevicetype

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.3.3.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OBJECT IDENTIFIER

Access: read-only

Description: An indication of the type of device. If this value is `hrDeviceProcessor { hrDeviceTypes 3 }' then an entry exists in the hrProcessorTable which corresponds to this device. If this value is `hrDeviceNetwork { hrDeviceTypes 4 }', then an entry exists in the hrNetworkTable which corresponds to this device. If this value is `hrDevicePrinter { hrDeviceTypes 5 }', then an entry exists in the hrPrinterTable which corresponds to this device. If this value is `hrDeviceDiskStorage { hrDeviceTypes 6 }', then an entry exists in the hrDiskStorageTable which corresponds to this device. Refer to RFC 1514, Host Resources MIB, for more details.

What is hrdevicetype?

This read-only object identifier classifies what kind of device a given Host Resources device-table row represents, for example indicating hrDevicePrinter to signal that a matching row exists in the hrPrinterTable with more printer-specific detail. It lets a generic management station figure out which specialized table to consult next for more detail about a given device entry. For instance, software that sees hrdevicetype report the printer type would then know to look up that device's index in hrprinterstatus rather than in a processor- or network-specific table.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.3.3.2.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> CLJ8500-MIB::hrdevicetype

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.3.3.2.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> CLJ8500-MIB::hrdevicetype.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> hrdevicetype.1
