Description: A unique value for each device contained by the host. The value for each device must remain constant at least from one re-initialization of the agent to the next re-initialization. Refer to RFC 1514, Host Resources MIB, for more details. Additional information: The entry in the Device Table which describes the printer.
What is hrdeviceindex?
This read-only integer uniquely identifies a device row in the printer's Host Resources device table, and for the CLJ8500 it specifically points to the entry describing the printer engine itself. It gives other objects in the Host Resources MIB, like hrdevicestatus and hrprinterstatus, a stable index to reference when reporting on that same physical device. For example, a management station reading hrdevicestatus for a given hrdeviceindex would know it is looking at the health of the print engine that this exact index identifies.
