Description: Manages Cisco Small Business route-map policies for conditional routing and redistribution control.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCOSB-ROUTEMAP-MIB?
CISCOSB-ROUTEMAP-MIB is a Cisco Small Business private MIB for managing route-map based policy routing (PBR), used to conditionally redirect traffic matching an access list to a specific next-hop or interface. It exposes a table of route-map entries defining the route-map name, section/sequence ID, match criteria (access list), and the resulting next-hop action (address or outgoing interface). Its monitoring value is configuration/status verification for policy-based routing—confirming which traffic classes are being redirected and whether the configured next-hop is valid and reachable. It builds on standard access-list and routing concepts but is a Cisco proprietary implementation. It is deployed on Cisco Small Business routers/L3 switches needing selective traffic steering distinct from the main routing table. Engineers can download the CISCOSB-ROUTEMAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCOSB-ROUTEMAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Small Business router/Layer 3 switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would inspect rlRouteMapPbrTable/rlRouteMapPbrEntry, reading rlRouteMapPbrRouteMapName and rlRouteMapPbrRouteMapSectionId to identify a specific policy section, then check rlRouteMapPbrMatchAccessListName to see which traffic it applies to and rlRouteMapPbrActionNexthopInetAddress/rlRouteMapPbrActionNexthopIfIndex to confirm the configured redirect target. If rlRouteMapPbrRowStatus shows an entry as notInService or the next-hop address is unreachable, traffic matching that route-map would silently fall through to normal routing instead of being redirected as intended.
What Can Be Monitored
- route-map policy entries
- match access-list per route-map section
- configured next-hop address/interface
- route-map entry row status
