Description: Cross-references UCS managed objects with their corresponding SNMP OID representations via object identity mappings.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-MAPPINGS-MIB?

CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-MAPPINGS-MIB is a Cisco Systems proprietary MIB providing OID/object-relationship lookup tables for the Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) management information model. Its three tables map a parent managed object to its child (and vice versa) by instance ID and distinguished name (DN), and map a managed object's DN directly to its SNMP OID. As a structural/lookup MIB it lets a management application resolve UCS's internal hierarchical object model (used throughout the rest of the CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-MIB family) into SNMP-walkable OIDs. It is deployed on Cisco UCS Manager-managed compute platforms. Engineers can download the CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-MAPPINGS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-MAPPINGS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco UCS Manager-managed compute platforms

Monitoring Examples

A management application uses cucsMappingsDnToOidTable to resolve a UCS managed object's distinguished name into the SNMP OID needed to poll it directly.
