Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for RSVP resource reservation protocol management on Cisco routing platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-RSVP-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-RSVP-CAPABILITY is a Cisco AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module that declares which objects, tables, and groups from the standard RSVP-MIB (Resource Reservation Protocol MIB) a given Cisco device/agent implementation supports. It contains no runtime managed objects, counters, or tables of its own; it exists purely as a compliance statement referenced by network management systems to determine RSVP feature support before querying the underlying RSVP-MIB for actual reservation state. Because it carries no data objects, it plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; its function is limited to describing agent conformance to the RSVP-MIB standard. It is entirely dependent on the IETF standard RSVP-MIB, whose object groups it references and qualifies support for on Cisco platforms. It applies to Cisco routing platforms that implement RSVP for MPLS traffic-engineering or integrated-services QoS resource reservation. Engineers can download the CISCO-RSVP-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-RSVP-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco router implementing RSVP for MPLS-TE or QoS
Monitoring Examples
This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with no runtime data objects of its own, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it only records which OBJECT-GROUPs from the standard RSVP-MIB a given Cisco agent implements.
