Category: Cisco Devices, Device Management, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares agent capabilities for printer management functions on Cisco devices supporting print services.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-PRINTER-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-PRINTER-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module documenting which parts of the standard Printer-MIB a Cisco device's agent implementation supports. It concerns SNMP-based printer/print-services management on Cisco devices that offer such functionality. Being a capabilities module, it defines no objects or traps itself and exposes no runtime data for status monitoring. It is entirely dependent on the IETF standard Printer-MIB (RFC 3805) whose support it describes. It is consumed by management systems to know exactly which Printer-MIB groups a given Cisco agent implements. Engineers can download the CISCO-PRINTER-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-PRINTER-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

This is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module, so it defines no pollable objects; it only documents which groups of the standard Printer-MIB a Cisco agent supports, and thus offers no runtime monitoring scenario of its own.
