Description: Manages LWAPP WLC logical interfaces including VLAN mappings, IP addressing, and port assignments.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-LWAPP-INTERFACE-MIB?

CISCO-LWAPP-INTERFACE-MIB manages the logical interfaces configured on a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller, including their VLAN mapping, IP addressing (IPv4 and IPv6), DHCP behavior, and NAS identity used for WLAN traffic termination. It exposes an interface configuration table covering interface name, wired/wireless designation, quarantine VLAN assignment, DHCP Option-82 and proxy settings, mDNS profile association, NAS ID, redundant-port mapping, and primary IPv6 address. This is a configuration-status MIB used to confirm each controller interface is correctly provisioned -- e.g. verifying VLAN and IP addressing line up with network design, or that quarantine VLAN and DHCP options are set as intended for guest/BYOD onboarding. It is part of the broader LWAPP wireless controller MIB family and depends on the controller's underlying interface/VLAN infrastructure. It is deployed on Cisco wireless LAN controllers as they map WLANs to VLANs and IP interfaces. Engineers can download the CISCO-LWAPP-INTERFACE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-LWAPP-INTERFACE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers

Monitoring Examples

An admin inspects clInterfaceConfigTable/clInterfaceConfigEntry keyed by clInterfaceName to verify clInterfaceWired, clInterfaceQuarantineVlanId, and clInterfacePrimaryIPv6AddrType/clInterfacePrimaryIPv6Addr match the intended design for a given controller interface. Checking clInterfaceDhcpOpt82Enabled and clInterfaceDhcpProxyMode helps troubleshoot clients failing to get expected DHCP options, while clInterfaceNasId confirms the NAS identifier presented to RADIUS during authentication.

What Can Be Monitored

  • interface VLAN and wired/wireless designation
  • quarantine VLAN assignment
  • DHCP option-82/proxy settings
  • primary IPv6 address configuration
  • NAS ID
  • mDNS profile association
