What Is CISCO-LWAPP-DOT11-CCX-CLIENT-MIB?

CISCO-LWAPP-DOT11-CCX-CLIENT-MIB lets a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller retrieve CCXv5 (Cisco Compatible Extensions) diagnostic data from wireless clients, including mesh backhaul link-quality tests between neighboring mesh access points and per-client event/system/roaming logs. It exposes a request table to trigger a client to send its logs, a system-log table with timestamped log buffers, and a roaming-event log table. This is used to monitor the software-level diagnostic status of wireless clients and mesh links -- pulling a client's stored logs or roaming history to troubleshoot connectivity or handoff problems, and assessing mesh backhaul link quality between mesh nodes. It is a Cisco-specific extension layered on the CCX client feature set and the broader LWAPP wireless controller MIB family. An admin sets a request in cldccEventLogsRequestTable (via cldccEventLogsRequestLogType and cldccEventLogsRequestRowStatus) to pull a wireless client's logs, then reads the resulting cldccSysLogsTable/cldccSysLogsEntry entries -- each with a cldccSysLogsIndex, cldccSysLogsTimeStamp, and cldccSysLogsBuffer -- to inspect what the client recorded around a reported connectivity issue. cldccRoamingLogsTable/cldccRoamingLogsEntry, indexed by cldccRoamingLogsIndex, reveals a client's recent roaming/handoff history for diagnosing dropped-connection complaints.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using cldccStatsRespTransmittedFragmentCount OID:

Select a Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (LWAPP-based) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type cldccStatsRespTransmittedFragmentCount into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. This object indicates the transmitted fragment count. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline, since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
