What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-UUIDPOOL-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-UUIDPOOL-MIB is a Cisco MIB that models the UUID pool management information used to assign unique server identities (such as UUIDs and MAC-like addresses) to Firepower/UCS service profiles in a Cisco UCS-managed Firepower deployment. It exposes configuration and inventory data about UUID address pools and blocks, including which addresses have been assigned, to which distinguished name (Dn) they are assigned, and pool-wide assigned/defined counts. This MIB is primarily an inventory/configuration management tool rather than a hardware-health MIB, but by tracking assignment counts (cfprUuidpoolAddrGlobalAssignedCnt, cfprUuidpoolAddrGlobalDefinedCnt) it lets an administrator monitor pool exhaustion, which could otherwise silently block new service-profile deployment. It is part of Cisco's UCS management information model and depends on the broader CISCO-FIREPOWER/UCS Manager MIB family for context such as organizational Dn structure. It is typically deployed in Cisco Firepower/UCS chassis environments where service profiles are provisioned to physical or virtual blades needing unique identity pools, and administrators often open this module in a CISCO-FIREPOWER-UUIDPOOL-MIB MIB Browser to inspect pool objects directly.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-UUIDPOOL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower appliance (UCS-managed)
  • Cisco UCS chassis/blade server

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll cfprUuidpoolAddrTable/cfprUuidpoolAddrEntry to see individual UUID address entries, checking cfprUuidpoolAddrAssigned and cfprUuidpoolAddrAssignedToDn to confirm a given UUID is bound to the expected service profile Dn. Comparing cfprUuidpoolAddrGlobalAssignedCnt against cfprUuidpoolAddrGlobalDefinedCnt across cfprUuidpoolBlockTable entries reveals when a UUID pool block is nearing exhaustion, which would prevent provisioning new service profiles until the pool is expanded.

What Can Be Monitored

  • UUID pool assignment status
  • assigned-to service profile Dn
  • pool block defined/assigned counts
  • UUID address ownership
