Description: Provides management objects for system version tracking, software version strings, and release metadata on Cisco UCS/Firepower platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-VERSION-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-VERSION-MIB is part of the Cisco UCS/Firepower model-based MIB family dedicated to software version tracking across the platform's applications and endpoints. It exposes objects reporting the installed application version string, the time a version was applied, and per-endpoint version detail, making it explicitly a software-version/status MIB. This directly supports monitoring software status of a device: an admin can determine exactly what firmware/software build is running on each managed endpoint and when it was last updated, which is central to compliance and vulnerability-patch tracking. As with sibling Firepower MIBs, it follows the shared Dn/Rn/InstanceId managed-object model of Cisco's UCS Manager information model rather than an external standards dependency. It is deployed across Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnects, blades, and adapters where administrators must track firmware/software versions for compliance or upgrade planning. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-VERSION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-VERSION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnects, blades, and adapters

Monitoring Examples

An admin can poll cfprVersionApplicationTable/cfprVersionApplicationEntry to read cfprVersionApplicationVersion and cfprVersionApplicationTime, confirming which firmware version an application component is running and when it was installed; cfprVersionEpTable provides the same version detail per managed endpoint, letting an admin quickly spot a blade or adapter that is still running an outdated or non-compliant firmware version after a fleet-wide upgrade.

What Can Be Monitored

  • application/software version string
  • version install time
  • per-endpoint firmware/software version
  • version detail metadata
