Description: Provides the top-level managed object class hierarchy and root object registration for the Cisco UCS/Firepower SNMP MIB framework.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-TOP-MIB?

This MIB module is part of Cisco's UCS/Firepower management information model, defining the top-level policy and meta-information object classes used across the Firepower chassis and policy management framework. It belongs to Cisco's data-center/security-appliance management family, which models physical and logical elements as managed objects identified by distinguished names (Dn), relative names (Rn), and instance identifiers rather than exposing raw hardware counters directly. The data it exposes is structural and administrative: policy instance identity and state, and per-object metadata error codes (Ecode), which together describe the health and consistency of the management model, and a bad Ecode or unexpected policy state is itself a software-status fault signal worth alerting on. It sits at the root of a larger family of CISCO-* UCS/Firepower MIBs that model the full range of chassis, adapter, and fabric objects, so it is typically loaded alongside those companion modules rather than standalone. It is deployed with Cisco Firepower appliances and UCS-based platforms as part of the broader UCSM/CIMC-style SNMP management stack used in data center and security operations, and administrators typically begin with a CISCO-FIREPOWER-TOP-MIB download to load it alongside its companion modules.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-TOP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower appliances
  • Cisco UCS-based platforms

Monitoring Examples

An admin could poll cfprTopInfoPolicyTable/cfprTopInfoPolicyEntry to enumerate policy instances by cfprTopInfoPolicyInstanceId, checking cfprTopInfoPolicyDn and cfprTopInfoPolicyRn to identify which managed object a policy applies to and cfprTopInfoPolicyState to see if it is active. Separately, cfprTopMetaInfTable rows expose cfprTopMetaInfEcode, an error/status code for each managed object's metadata, useful for spotting reconciliation problems between the management model and the actual device state. Because this MIB models structural metadata rather than physical sensors, its practical value is confirming policy consistency and catching Ecode anomalies rather than tracking hardware health directly.

What Can Be Monitored

  • policy instance identity and state
  • policy object distinguished/relative names
  • metadata error codes (Ecode)
  • managed object state consistency
