Description: Cisco Firepower MIB managing fabric interconnect switching objects including VLANs, VSANs, Ethernet and FC ports on Cisco Firepower chassis fabric modules

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-SW-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-SW-MIB models the switching/fabric-interconnect components of the Cisco Firepower chassis management information model, covering fabric modules and their VLAN, VSAN, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel port configuration. It exposes access-domain tables (cfprSwAccessDomainTable) identifying management domains within the fabric switch, along with finite-state-machine (FSM) tracking objects - cfprSwAccessDomainFsmDescr, cfprSwAccessDomainFsmProgr, cfprSwAccessDomainFsmStageDescr, and related remote-invocation error codes - that reflect the progress and outcome of configuration operations applied to the switching fabric. Its monitoring value is largely in tracking the software/task-execution status of fabric-configuration operations: administrators watch FSM progress and remote-invocation error codes/descriptions to detect stalled or failed configuration tasks (such as VLAN or port-channel provisioning) on the Firepower chassis's fabric interconnect. It follows Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS)-style managed-object/DN (distinguished name) modeling convention, reflecting its shared lineage with Cisco UCS Manager MIBs. It is deployed in Cisco Firepower 9300/4100-series security appliance chassis where the fabric interconnect switches traffic between security modules and external networks. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-SW-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-SW-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower 9300/4100-series security appliance chassis (fabric interconnect module)

Monitoring Examples

An operator troubleshooting a stuck configuration change would poll cfprSwAccessDomainFsmStageDescr and cfprSwAccessDomainFsmProgr on cfprSwAccessDomainTable to see how far a fabric provisioning task has progressed, and check cfprSwAccessDomainFsmRmtInvErrCode/cfprSwAccessDomainFsmRmtInvErrDescr for a specific failure reason if the task stalled. cfprSwAccessDomainDn/cfprSwAccessDomainRn (distinguished/relative names) identify exactly which access domain and fabric object the FSM state applies to, letting the admin correlate the failure to a specific VLAN or port-channel change.

What Can Be Monitored

  • fabric access domain configuration
  • FSM task progress
  • FSM stage description
  • remote invocation error codes
