Description: Provides management objects for licensed feature activation and feature package management on Cisco UCS/Firepower platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-FEATURE-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-FEATURE-MIB is part of the Cisco UCS/Firepower management information model, covering licensed feature activation and feature package management on Firepower and UCS platforms. It exposes configuration data describing available feature definitions (name, description) and per-context feature enablement, reflecting which licensed capabilities are active on a given managed object instance. It is primarily a software/licensing status MIB: monitoring it lets an administrator confirm which optional software features and license packages are currently enabled versus merely defined/available on the appliance, which is a form of software status tracking distinct from hardware health. As part of the Firepower/UCS unified model it depends on the broader UCS managed object hierarchy (referenced via distinguished/relative names) rather than external standard MIBs. It is deployed on Cisco Firepower security appliances and UCS platforms where feature licensing needs to be tracked centrally. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-FEATURE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-FEATURE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower security appliances
  • Cisco UCS platforms

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll cfprFeatureDefinitionTable/cfprFeatureDefinitionEntry to list available features via cfprFeatureDefinitionName and cfprFeatureDefinitionDescription, then cross-check cfprFeatureContextEpTable/cfprFeatureContextEpEntry (identified by cfprFeatureContextEpDn) to see which features are actually active in a given security context. A feature expected to be enabled but absent from the context endpoint table would indicate a licensing or activation problem on that appliance.

What Can Be Monitored

  • licensed feature activation status
  • available feature definitions
  • feature package assignment per context
