Description: Cisco Firepower MIB representing the hardware equipment model, covering chassis, blades, PSUs, fans, and beacon LEDs on Cisco Firepower security appliances

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-EQUIPMENT-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-EQUIPMENT-MIB models the physical equipment layer of Cisco Firepower security appliances (based on the UCS-derived chassis management model), covering chassis, blades/modules, power supplies, fans, and status LEDs/beacons. It exposes hardware inventory and connectivity objects such as adaptor connection definitions between I/O modules and blades, alongside identifying attributes (distinguished name, relative name, description) for each equipment component. This makes it squarely a hardware-status MIB, intended to monitor physical component health and presence -- PSU and fan status, blade/adaptor connectivity, and equipment identity/naming -- on Firepower chassis. It is part of a larger Cisco Firepower MIB family modeled on the UCS Manager information model, so it is typically used alongside other cfpr* MIBs covering additional Firepower subsystems. It is deployed in data center and network security environments running Cisco Firepower 9300/4100-series security appliances managed via Firepower Chassis Manager. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-EQUIPMENT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-EQUIPMENT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower 9300/4100-series security appliances

Monitoring Examples

An operator can walk cfprEquipmentAdaptorConnDefTable/cfprEquipmentAdaptorConnDefEntry, using cfprEquipmentAdaptorConnDefAdaptorEp and cfprEquipmentAdaptorConnDefIomEp to verify that network adaptors are correctly connected to the expected I/O module endpoints. A missing or unexpected entry, or a cfprEquipmentAdaptorConnDefDescr indicating a fault, would reveal a card that has been removed, reseated, or is failing to link up within the chassis.

What Can Be Monitored

  • blade/module equipment inventory
  • adaptor-to-I/O-module connectivity
  • power supply status
  • fan status
  • chassis component naming/identity
