Description: Provides management objects for tracking configuration change events and audit log entries on Cisco UCS/Firepower platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-CHANGE-MIB?
CISCO-FIREPOWER-CHANGE-MIB is part of Cisco's UCS/Firepower management information model family and provides objects for tracking configuration change events and audit log entries on Firepower security appliances (and related UCS-managed chassis), recording which managed object was changed, its distinguished name, class, and status. It is a fault/audit-oriented MIB rather than a performance-counter one, exposing a changed-object reference table that logs each modification event with enough detail to trace what changed and when. Its monitoring value is in tracking the software configuration status and change history of the device -- letting an administrator detect unexpected or unauthorized configuration changes, a key part of security-appliance operational and compliance monitoring -- rather than reporting on physical hardware sensors directly. It follows Cisco's UCS/Firepower managed-object-model conventions (DN, RN, class ID, GUID) shared across other CISCO-FIREPOWER-*-MIB modules, showing a dependency on that broader modeling framework. It is deployed on Cisco Firepower/ASA-with-FirePOWER and UCS-managed security platforms for change-audit visibility, and administrators can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-CHANGE-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser for audit polling.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-CHANGE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco Firepower security appliances (UCS/Firepower-managed platforms)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll cfprChangeChangedObjectRefTable/cfprChangeChangedObjectRefEntry to see recent entries with cfprChangeChangedObjectRefDn, cfprChangeChangedObjectRefChangedMoClassId, and cfprChangeChangedObjectRefRefObjStatus, identifying exactly which managed object (by distinguished name) was modified and its resulting status. A burst of unexpected change entries referencing security-policy objects (cfprChangeChangedObjectRefCentraleMoDn) outside a maintenance window would flag a potential unauthorized configuration change worth investigating.
What Can Be Monitored
- configuration change events
- changed managed-object identity/DN
- changed object class
- change/audit status
- change timestamp/sequence via referenced object entries
