What Is AVIAT-TEXTCONVENTION-MIB?

AVIAT-TEXTCONVENTION-MIB defines the shared textual conventions and data types used throughout Aviat Networks' DMC Aviat Enterprise MIB family for their microwave radio management systems. As a textual-conventions-only module, it defines no managed objects or tables and thus carries no runtime monitoring data of its own. Its role is to ensure consistency in how Aviat's various device-specific MIBs represent values such as status codes, alarm severities, or measurement units used to report hardware and software status. It functions as a foundational dependency for the broader family of Aviat microwave radio MIBs, which import these shared types to describe things like signal quality, temperature, or link status. It is used in Aviat Networks microwave backhaul radio deployments as a supporting module underlying the vendor's product-specific management MIBs. Opening the AVIAT-TEXTCONVENTION-MIB MIB file in a compiler reveals only type and textual-convention definitions, with no OBJECT-TYPE or scalar declarations of its own.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AVIAT-TEXTCONVENTION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Aviat WTM 4800 — high-capacity all-outdoor microwave radio, 5-80 GHz, IP/MPLS transport
  • Aviat IRU 600 UHP — ultra-high-power all-indoor microwave radio, 4-11 GHz

Monitoring Examples

This module contains no sample objects because it only defines shared textual convention types for use by other Aviat MIBs. There is no monitoring scenario to describe here; actual polling of signal quality, alarms, or radio status would occur through the specific Aviat product MIBs that import these conventions.
