Category: Quality of Service, Vendor: Ascend/Lucent

Description: Manages load balancing and traffic distribution selection policies on Ascend WAN equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ASCEND-MIBLOADSELECT-MIB?

ASCEND-MIBLOADSELECT-MIB is a legacy Ascend Communications (later Lucent, built on ASCEND-MIB) proprietary MIB configuring which card-firmware images ('load select' profiles) are used for a wide range of interface card types. Its profile table, keyed by index, records unknown-cards handling and per-card-type load flags spanning SR/SR2/APXSR, 8-port T1/E1, T3, STM0, various clip cards, 24-port T1/E1, DS3, DS3-ATM, and ATM-HSE cards. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm which firmware load is selected for each interface card type on a legacy Ascend (Lucent) chassis. It is deployed on legacy Ascend Communications (Lucent) WAN access equipment. Engineers can download the ASCEND-MIBLOADSELECT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASCEND-MIBLOADSELECT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Legacy Ascend Communications (Lucent) WAN access equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks loadSelectProfile-Ds3Atm to confirm which firmware load is selected for DS3-ATM cards on a legacy Ascend (Lucent) chassis.
