What Is ASCEND-LANMODEM-MIB?

ASCEND-LANMODEM-MIB is an Ascend Communications (later Lucent) proprietary MIB reporting internal LAN-modem resource allocation and health across an Ascend access-server chassis. Its objects cover a slot-modem table (index, slot/item index, item status/status-character/config), available-modem tables (per slot/port used/bad counts, last-32-calls bitmask), suspect-modem tables with the same fields, and a disabled-modem list. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator identify which internal modem resources are marked suspect or disabled due to repeated call failures on an Ascend access server. It is deployed on Ascend Communications (Lucent) access-server chassis. Engineers can download the ASCEND-LANMODEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
