Description: Nortel Networks Aptis DSL concentrator SNMPv1 trap definitions for fault notification.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is APTIS-TRAPS-MIB?
APTIS-TRAPS-MIB is an Aptis Communications (Nortel CVX platform) proprietary MIB defining SNMP trap varbind objects for the CVX remote-access/tunnel gateway. Its objects cover a trap-generation number, path, severity, string, source IP address, slot/port number, tunnel type, username, auth-threshold, filter name, current/warning-level temperature, session ID, VPOP ID, and modem count — used across traps including the superseded L2F-tunnel start/stop/reject events (now superseded by cvx-tunnel-start/stop/reject). As a notification MIB it lets an administrator receive detailed tunnel-lifecycle and hardware-temperature alerts from a Nortel CVX (Aptis) gateway. It is deployed on Aptis Communications (Nortel CVX) remote-access platforms. Engineers can download the APTIS-TRAPS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in APTIS-TRAPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Aptis Communications (Nortel CVX) remote-access platforms
Monitoring Examples
An administrator investigates a cvx-tunnel-reject trap and reads trapUserName and trapFilterName to diagnose a rejected tunnel session on a Nortel CVX (Aptis) gateway.
What Can Be Monitored
- tunnel-lifecycle events and hardware-temperature alerts
