Description: Acme Packet SBC element management system integration and fault reporting configuration.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is APEMS-MIB?
APEMS-MIB is Acme Packet's (a session border controller vendor later part of Oracle Communications) MIB integrating its Net-Net session border controllers with an external Element Management System (EMS), covering fault-reporting configuration between the SBC and its EMS. Rather than deep hardware sensor data, it exposes configuration objects governing how and where the SBC's fault/alarm data is reported to the EMS platform. Its monitoring relevance is around software/fault-reporting status: it lets an operator confirm the SBC is correctly configured to forward its alarms/fault conditions to the Net-Net EMS, which in turn provides the actual fault, performance, and health dashboards for the SBC fleet. No explicit dependency on other MIBs is shown in the available data, though by design it works alongside Acme Packet's broader Net-Net product MIB suite, which carries the actual alarm/performance objects, rather than replacing it. It is typically deployed in service-provider or enterprise voice/SIP trunking environments where Acme Packet Net-Net SBCs are centrally managed via the Net-Net EMS for fault visibility.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in APEMS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Acme Packet Net-Net session border controller
Monitoring Examples
No detailed object or table names were provided in this batch for this MIB, so a concrete polling scenario with specific OIDs cannot be constructed. Based on its description, this module would configure how and where an Acme Packet Net-Net SBC forwards fault/alarm reports to the Net-Net EMS, with actual SBC health data itself residing in other Acme Packet Net-Net MIBs, though an administrator can still perform an APEMS-MIB download to inspect its fault-reporting configuration objects directly.
What Can Be Monitored
- EMS fault-reporting configuration
