What Is ACMEPACKET-SMI?

ACMEPACKET-SMI defines the enterprise SMI (Structure of Management Information) structure and OID subtree registration for Acme Packet (now Oracle) Session Border Controllers, used in VoIP and unified-communications signaling networks. As a pure SMI module it defines only the OID hierarchy under which Acme Packet's actual SBC management MIBs -- covering SIP session status, media/RTP statistics, and hardware health -- are organized, rather than defining managed objects itself. It therefore exposes no direct hardware or software status like uptime, temperature, CPU load, or call statistics; those metrics are found in the specific Acme Packet/Oracle SBC MIB modules that register beneath this SMI root. Its dependency is structural, forming the enterprise OID base that every other Acme Packet MIB module relies on for consistent placement. It is deployed as a compile-time prerequisite wherever Oracle/Acme Packet Session Border Controllers are managed via SNMP in carrier or enterprise VoIP/SBC deployments. As an ACMEPACKET-SMI reference, this module is consulted only to resolve the OID namespace, not to retrieve any operational or hardware-health data.
