Description: The topologyChangeVcpState notification is generated when a VCP has transitioned its state from disabled to forwarding or from forwarding to disabled. The spanning tree topology has been modified and it may denote loss of customer access or redundancy. Check the new topology against the provisioned topology to determine severity of connectivity loss.
What is topologyChangeVcpState?
This notification is sent when a Virtual Connection Port (VCP) transitions between disabled and forwarding states, indicating a change in spanning tree topology. The trap includes customer and service identifiers to pinpoint the affected connection. An operator receives this alert to monitor network topology stability and detect service-affecting topology changes.
