Description:
The value of the object tlsShgRestProtSrcMacAction indicates the action to take whenever a relearn request for a protected MAC is received on a restricted SAP belonging to this SHG. When the value of this object is 'disable' the SAP will be placed in the operational down state, with the operating flag 'recProtSrcMac' set. When the value of this object is 'alarm-only', the SAP will be left up and only a notification, sapReceivedProtSrcMac, will be generated.
What is tlsShgRestProtSrcMacAction?
This OID stores a configurable action (disable the port or alarm only) that the device should take when it detects that a protected MAC address is trying to re-learn on a restricted network port. This security feature prevents a compromised device from masquerading as another trusted device. An admin would configure this policy to control how the network reacts to suspected MAC spoofing attempts.
