Description: The sapAtmOamPeriodicLoopback object specifies whether this SAP will run periodic OAM loopbacks or not. If enabled, an ATM OAM loopback cell will be transmitted every period as configured in tAtmSysOamLoopbackPeriod. If a response is not received and tAtmSysOamRetryDown consecutive retries also result in failure, the endpoint will transition to the eteAisLoc state. Once in the eteAisLoc state, an ATM OAM loopback cell will be transmitted every period as configured in tAtmSysOamLoopbackPeriod. If a response is received for the periodic loopback and tAtmSysOamRetryUp consecutive retries also each receive a response, the endpoint will transition back to the up state. This object is only configurable on IES or VPRN service endpoints.
What is sapAtmOamPeriodicLoopback?
This configurable object enables or disables the periodic transmission of ATM OAM loopback cells on the SAP to verify end-to-end ATM connectivity. When enabled, loopback cells are sent at the interval defined by the system-wide tAtmSysOamLoopbackPeriod parameter.
