What Is ADTRAN-ADUNIT-MIB?
ADTRAN-ADUNIT-MIB is an ADTRAN vendor-specific MIB (module adtranUnitMib, under the shared adShared enterprise branch) that models general unit-level configuration and status for ADTRAN network access devices, independent of any specific card or port. It exposes system identity and boot information (adUnitBootRevision), general configuration (adUnitDateTime, adUnitMaxTelnetAccess, adUnitEncryptPasswords, adUnitEventLogging), utility/maintenance actions (adUnitRebootSystem, adUnitFactoryDefaultSystem, adUnitSchedResetTime), a local user-authentication table (adUnitUserTable, keyed by adUnitUserIndex with name, auth method, idle timeout, access level, and RowStatus), and TFTP firmware/configuration transfer state via the AdTftpConfigXferStatus textual convention (idle, download/upload in-progress, failed, checksum errors, and more). Monitoring it surfaces whether firmware or configuration transfers are progressing or have failed, and whether local user accounts and telnet access limits are configured as expected. It depends on the ADTRAN-TC and ADTRAN-MIB modules for shared types and the base adShared OID subtree, and is deployed alongside ADTRAN's per-slot and per-port MIBs on the same access device. Network teams can download the ADTRAN-ADUNIT-MIB file to load base unit management into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ADTRAN-ADUNIT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
An operator polls the TFTP transfer status object (typed AdTftpConfigXferStatus) after pushing a firmware update to confirm it reaches tftpDownloadComplete rather than tftpDownloadFailed or tftpBadFileChecksum, and cross-checks adUnitUserTable entries' adUnitUserStatus to verify no unexpected accounts were added via adUnitFactoryDefaultSystem resets.
