Description: Manages service mapping and encapsulation profiles on Accedian MetroNID devices for Ethernet service delivery.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ACD-SMAP-MIB?

ACD-SMAP-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module from Accedian Networks for its MetroNID devices, managing service mapping and Class-of-Service (CoS) encapsulation profiles used in Ethernet service delivery. It exposes configuration tables defining CoS profiles, including how drop-eligibility/color bits are encoded or decoded and how DSCP/priority code points map to internal color markings. Its monitoring value is primarily configuration/software-state oriented — confirming CoS profiles and code-point mappings are correctly provisioned so that traffic is prioritized and policed as intended, which is a service-quality/configuration health check rather than hardware telemetry. It also defines a notification group for service-mapping related events. It works in conjunction with the device's Ethernet service and QoS mechanisms rather than a specific external standard. It is deployed on Accedian MetroNID devices at Ethernet service demarcation points where per-service CoS treatment must be enforced. Engineers can download the ACD-SMAP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ACD-SMAP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Accedian MetroNID Ethernet service device

Monitoring Examples

The acdSmapCoSProfTable/acdSmapCoSProfEntry, keyed by acdSmapCoSProfID, includes acdSmapCoSProfName, acdSmapCoSProfType, acdSmapCoSProfDecodeDropBit, and acdSmapCoSProfEncodeDropBit, with a nested acdSmapCoSProfCodePointTable holding acdSmapCoSProfCodePointID and acdSmapCoSProfCodePointPreMarkingColor. An administrator would poll these tables to confirm a given CoS profile's code-point-to-color mappings match the intended QoS policy, and a mismatched acdSmapCoSProfCodePointPreMarkingColor could explain traffic being incorrectly marked or dropped under congestion. The acdSmapNotifications group would flag related service-mapping configuration events.

What Can Be Monitored

  • CoS profile configuration
  • drop-bit encode/decode settings
  • code point to color mapping
  • service mapping notifications
