Description: Monitors ZTE ZXR10 optical transceiver parameters including transmit/receive power, temperature, and module status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ZXR10OPTICALMIB?
ZXR10OPTICALMIB is a ZTE private module for ZXR10 devices that queries and configures optical transceiver (SFP/SFP+/XFP-class) module parameters, exposing physical-layer diagnostic data for pluggable optics. It provides hardware-health data including transmit and receive optical power levels, module temperature, and overall transceiver status/presence. This is a strongly hardware-monitoring-oriented MIB: it is used to detect a degrading or failing optical module by watching for receive power dropping toward a sensitivity threshold, transmit power drifting out of spec, or temperature rising abnormally, all of which precede a hard link failure. It commonly parallels the semantics of the standards-based ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB/transceiver DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring) conventions, though implemented as a ZTE-specific model. It is deployed on ZXR10 routers and switches wherever fiber-optic uplinks or transceivers are installed, particularly in metro/core links where proactive optical-health monitoring prevents unplanned outages, typically after a ZXR10OPTICALMIB download to load the module into a MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10OPTICALMIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 router/switch (optical transceiver/SFP)
Monitoring Examples
No sample runtime objects were provided for this module, so specific table/object names cannot be cited; conceptually, an operator would poll per-port optical transmit power, receive power, and module temperature on a regular interval to build a baseline for each installed transceiver. A steadily declining receive power reading or a temperature reading approaching the module's rated maximum would provide early warning of an aging or overheating optical transceiver before the link actually fails.
What Can Be Monitored
- transmit optical power
- receive optical power
- transceiver module temperature
- transceiver presence/status
