Description: Covers configuration management on ZTE ZXR10 routers, including save, rollback, and version history operations.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ZXR10-CONFIG-MAN-MIB?
ZXR10-CONFIG-MAN-MIB is a ZTE proprietary SNMP module for the ZXR10 platform focused on configuration management — tracking saves, changes, and rollback history of the device's running configuration. It exposes configuration-change tracking data, notably a configuration trace table that records the exact changes made during a given configuration-history event. This MIB is used to monitor the software/administrative status of the device by letting an NMS detect when and how the running configuration was modified, which is essential for change-control auditing and for quickly identifying the source of an unexpected configuration drift or outage. It is a self-contained management MIB but is typically correlated with system and security MIBs to attribute changes to specific administrative sessions. It is deployed on ZTE ZXR10 routers in environments with formal change-management processes where configuration auditing and rollback tracking are required. Engineers can download the ZXR10-CONFIG-MAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZXR10-CONFIG-MAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ZTE ZXR10 router/switch
Monitoring Examples
An NMS would poll the zxcmConfigTraceTable, mentioned explicitly in the module description, to retrieve the specific configuration commands or deltas applied during a particular configuration-history event. By correlating trace entries with timestamps, an operator can detect an unauthorized or unexpected configuration change shortly after it occurs and update its own record of the device's intended state accordingly.
What Can Be Monitored
- configuration change history
- configuration save events
- configuration trace/delta records
- rollback event tracking
