Description: Manages Zhone Technologies zEdge NAT translation rules, address mappings, and session tracking tables.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ZHONE-COM-IP-ZEDGE-NAT-MIB?

ZHONE-COM-IP-ZEDGE-NAT-MIB is a Zhone Technologies module for the zEdge IP software platform, managing Network Address Translation (NAT) configuration such as translation rules, address mappings, and session tracking. It exposes configuration data (NAT rule/mapping definitions) as well as stateful runtime data (active translation sessions), giving visibility into how subscriber or internal addresses are being translated to external addresses. This is useful for monitoring the software status of the NAT service itself, such as whether translation sessions are being tracked correctly and whether the NAT/session table is nearing capacity, which would otherwise cause new connections to fail. No explicit MIB dependency is stated, but it functions alongside Zhone's other IP software MIBs on the same platform. It is deployed on Zhone (later DASAN Zhone/DZS) broadband edge routers performing NAT for subscriber traffic, where administrators can complete a ZHONE-COM-IP-ZEDGE-NAT-MIB download to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ZHONE-COM-IP-ZEDGE-NAT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Zhone Technologies zEdge broadband/edge routers

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this module, so specific table names cannot be cited with confidence. Based on the description, this module would plausibly expose a NAT rule/mapping table and a session-tracking table; an administrator would poll active session counts against the address-pool size to detect NAT pool exhaustion causing new subscriber connections to be rejected.

What Can Be Monitored

  • NAT translation rules/mappings
  • active NAT session count
  • address pool utilization
  • session tracking table state
