What Is Wellfleet-STATS-MIB?

Wellfleet-STATS-MIB is a legacy enterprise MIB from Wellfleet Communications, a router/switch vendor later absorbed into Bay Networks/Nortel, providing system-wide performance statistics. It exposes performance counters across the router chassis and its individual network modules and interfaces. Its role is to monitor device performance health — throughput, error, and utilization-style counters at both the system and per-module level — helping operators detect overloaded modules or degrading links. As a Wellfleet-era enterprise MIB, it likely predates and parallels standard interface-statistics conventions rather than depending on any other specific MIB. It was used historically in enterprise and carrier backbone deployments running Wellfleet/Bay Networks routers.
