What Is Wellfleet-IPX-MIB?
Wellfleet-IPX-MIB is a legacy Wellfleet Communications (later Bay Networks/Nortel) proprietary MIB configuring Novell IPX routing. Its objects cover a create/delete control, disable flag, state, configured/active host-number, network/service counts, log filter, network-table size, router name, primary network number, RIP method, max path count, host count, multiple-host-addresses flag, Novell certification-conformance flag, triggered-update enable, net-size-bound enable, max network-table size, table-fill notification, and a route-entry table (destination, ifIndex, metric). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm IPX routing parameters and network-table capacity on a legacy Wellfleet (Bay Networks/Nortel) router. It is deployed on legacy Wellfleet Communications (Bay Networks/Nortel) routers running IPX. Engineers can download the Wellfleet-IPX-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Wellfleet-IPX-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Legacy Wellfleet Communications (Bay Networks/Nortel) routers (IPX)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks wfIpxBaseNetTblSize and wfIpxBaseMaxNetTblSize to confirm IPX network-table capacity headroom on a legacy Wellfleet (Bay Networks/Nortel) router.
What Can Be Monitored
- IPX routing configuration and network-table capacity

| INT wfIpxBaseRouteType | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.5.2.1.6 | INTEGER | read-only | The type of route. Note that the values direct(3) and indirect(4) refer to the notion of direct and indirect routing in the IPX architecture. Setting this object to the value invalid(2) has the effect of invalidating the corresponding entry in the ipRouteTable object. That is, it effectively dissasociates the destination identified with said entry from the route identified with said entry. It is an implementation-specific matter as to whether the agent removes an invalidated entry from the table. nagement stations must be prepared to receive tabular information from agents that corresponds to entries not currently in use. Proper interpretation of such entries requires examination of the relevant ipRouteType object. |
| INT wfIpxBaseRouteProto | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.5.2.1.7 | INTEGER | read-only | The routing mechanism via which this route was learned. Inclusion of values for gateway routing protocols is not intended to imply that hosts should support those protocols. |

The semantics of this metric are determined by the routing-protocol specified in the route's ipRouteProto value. If this metric is not used, its value should be set to -1. |
| INT wfIpxBaseRoute2Hops | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.5.13.1.4 | INTEGER | read-only | The primary routing metric (in hops) for this route. | INT wfIpxBaseRoute2Type | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.5.13.1.7 | INTEGER | read-only | The type of route. |
| INT wfIpxBaseRoute2Proto | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.5.13.1.8 | INTEGER | read-only | The routing mechanism via which this route was learned. Inclusion of values for gateway routing protocols is not intended to imply that hosts should support those protocols. |
| INT wfIpxBaseRoute2Age | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.5.13.1.9 | INTEGER | read-only | The number of seconds since this route was last updated or otherwise determined to be correct. Note that no semantics of `too old' can be implied except through knowledge of the routing protocol by which the route was learned. |
| OCT wfIpxBaseRoute2Info | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.5.13.1.10 | OCTET STRING | read-only | A user-defined string which describes this Route entry |
