What Is WWP-EXT-BRIDGE-MIB?
WWP-EXT-BRIDGE-MIB is a World Wide Packets, Inc. enterprise MIB (under wwpModules, importing from WWP-SMI) that extends the standard BRIDGE MIB with vendor-specific Ethernet port and VLAN management for WWP switching platforms. Its wwpPortTable, indexed by wwpPortId (tied to the standard dot1dBasePort), exposes port type, name, MAC address, auto-negotiation, admin/operational status, configured and operational speed/duplex, flow-control state, 802.1Q tagged/untagged behavior with default priority, jumbo frame size, ingress filtering, and a per-port rate-limit enable flag with a bits-per-second limit value. Its wwpVlanTable and wwpVlanXTable model IEEE 802.1Q VLANs, including the current egress/untagged port sets as bitmask PortList values, a management-VLAN designation (remote or local), row-status-based creation/deletion, and per-VLAN tunneling enable/disable. Together these give an operator a WWP-specific view of Layer 2 port and VLAN state that complements (and in places duplicates) the standard BRIDGE and Q-BRIDGE MIBs. It is deployed on World Wide Packets Ethernet switching/aggregation platforms, and this WWP-EXT-BRIDGE-MIB MIB Browser reference is useful when auditing rate-limiting and VLAN tunneling settings on that hardware.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-EXT-BRIDGE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- World Wide Packets Ethernet switching/aggregation platforms
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls wwpPortTable for wwpPortRateLimitState and wwpPortRateLimitValue on an access port to confirm rate limiting is enabled at the expected bps ceiling, and cross-checks wwpVlanTable's wwpVlanCurrentEgressPorts bitmask to verify the port is a member of the intended VLAN; a port missing from the expected egress-port bitmask while rate limiting looks correct would point to a VLAN membership misconfiguration rather than a throughput problem.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-port admin/operational status, speed, and duplex
- per-port rate-limit enable state and bps value
- VLAN egress/untagged port membership bitmasks
- management-VLAN designation (remote/local)
- per-VLAN tunneling enable/disable state
