What Is WWP-MAC-MGMT-MIB?

WWP-MAC-MGMT-MIB is a World Wide Packets, Inc (later Ciena) proprietary MIB managing per-VLAN, per-port MAC address learning and limiting on carrier Ethernet switches. Its MAC table, keyed by VLAN/port, records MAC address, address mode, status, row status, and a per-entry reset action, a port-management (PM) table records learn limit/count, status, and a MAC-flush action, and a cache-MAC table mirrors the same for cached entries. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm a port's learned MAC count against its configured learn limit and flush stale entries. It is deployed on World Wide Packets (Ciena) carrier Ethernet switches. Engineers can download the WWP-MAC-MGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
