What Is WWP-8021X-MIB?
WWP-8021X-MIB is a World Wide Packets private MIB covering IEEE 802.1X port-based network access control on WWP Ethernet switching equipment, modeling per-port authenticator/supplicant roles alongside the RADIUS infrastructure used to validate credentials. The wwp8021xPortTable, indexed by wwp8021xPort, assigns each switch port a wwp8021xRole of none, supplicant, authenticator, or both, while wwp8021xRadiusClient scalars (wwp8021xRadiusClientTimeout, wwp8021xRadiusClientRetries, wwp8021xRadiusDeadTime) tune RADIUS retry behavior and wwp8021xRadiusServerTable lists candidate RADIUS servers with their IP, auth port, shared key, and RowStatus for provisioning. A companion wwp8021xSupplicantSecTable stores per-port supplicant username/password when the switch itself must authenticate upstream as an 802.1X supplicant. It depends on WWP-SMI for its registration point and only base SNMPv2-SMI/TC/CONF constructs otherwise, and is deployed on World Wide Packets switches enforcing 802.1X access control at the network edge, and administrators can download the WWP-8021X-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-8021X-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- World Wide Packets Ethernet switches
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls wwp8021xRole for each port in wwp8021xPortTable to confirm edge ports are correctly set to authenticator(3), and checks wwp8021xRadiusServerTable to verify the primary RADIUS server entry is active; if wwp8021xRadiusDeadTime keeps getting hit and clients fail to authenticate, it points to the primary RADIUS server being unreachable and requests falling through to a backup server or being denied.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-port 802.1X role (authenticator/supplicant/both)
- RADIUS client timeout/retry/dead-time configuration
- RADIUS server table entries and row status
- supplicant username configuration per port
