Description: Manages World Wide Packets NTP client time server configuration and clock synchronization status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is WWP-NTP-MIB?
WWP-NTP-MIB is a World Wide Packets (WWP) enterprise MIB providing generic managed objects for NTP client configuration and clock synchronization status on WWP Ethernet transport devices. Although no sample objects were supplied, by its description it would expose NTP server configuration (address, poll interval) and synchronization state/status objects. Its monitoring relevance is software-status focused: it lets an administrator verify the device's system clock is properly synchronized to a configured time source, which matters for accurate log timestamps and coordinated troubleshooting across a network. It is a WWP-specific implementation of NTP client management rather than a reuse of the standard SNMPv2/NTPv4 MIBs, though conceptually parallel to them. It is deployed on World Wide Packets carrier Ethernet transport equipment where synchronized timekeeping supports service-level event correlation. Engineers can download the WWP-NTP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WWP-NTP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- World Wide Packets (WWP) carrier Ethernet transport device
Monitoring Examples
Since sample_objects is empty, no specific object names can be grounded for this MIB; a realistic use would be an operator checking the configured NTP server address and current synchronization status to confirm a WWP device's clock has not drifted out of sync after a network outage.
What Can Be Monitored
- configured NTP server address
- clock synchronization status
- NTP poll interval
