Category: Power and Environmental Monitoring
Description: Monitors FiberHome Networks device voltage rails, operating ranges, and out-of-tolerance alarm conditions.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is WRI-VOLTAGE-MIB?
WRI-VOLTAGE-MIB is a vendor-specific module from FiberHome Networks (a telecom equipment manufacturer) dedicated to monitoring device voltage rails. It exposes voltage measurement data for the device's power supply — actual voltage readings, their defined operating ranges, and out-of-tolerance alarm conditions. This is purely a hardware-health MIB: its entire purpose is confirming a critical piece of physical status — that internal DC voltage rails remain within safe operating bounds — since voltage drift is often an early warning sign of a failing power supply or environmental power problem. It is a small, self-contained enterprise MIB with no apparent dependency on other MIBs beyond FiberHome's own enterprise structure. It is typically deployed on FiberHome transmission/access equipment (such as OLTs or transport chassis) in telecom central offices or outside-plant cabinets, polled to catch power supply degradation before a hardware failure. Engineers can download the WRI-VOLTAGE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WRI-VOLTAGE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- FiberHome Networks transmission/access equipment
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll the voltage table for each monitored rail to compare its current reading against the defined nominal operating range, alerting when a rail drifts toward the edge of tolerance. A voltage alarm object transitioning to an out-of-range/alarm state would indicate a failing power supply module or a site power problem requiring dispatch. Because no explicit sample objects were captured for this module, exact table/column names are inferred from its stated purpose of monitoring voltage and out-of-tolerance alarms.
What Can Be Monitored
- voltage rail reading
- voltage operating range/threshold
- out-of-tolerance voltage alarm status
