Category: Juniper/Unisphere Broadband

Description: Specifies conformance requirements for Unisphere subscriber management on ERX broadband routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Unisphere-Data-Subscriber-CONF?

Unisphere-Data-Subscriber-CONF is a vendor-specific conformance module from Unisphere Networks (later Juniper's ERX platform) that specifies the agent capabilities requirements for the Subscriber management component of the SNMP agent on Unisphere Data Routing Switch products. As with other CONF modules, it does not expose runtime monitorable data itself but rather declares which subscriber-management object groups a compliant agent implementation must support for broadband subscriber session management (e.g., PPP/DHCP subscriber sessions on ERX edge routers). Its relevance to software status monitoring is indirect: it certifies agent compliance for the companion Subscriber MIB that would expose actual per-subscriber session state, counts, and status. It has an inherent dependency on the corresponding Unisphere Subscriber data MIB whose objects it constrains support for. It would have been used during development/certification of Unisphere/Juniper ERX broadband edge router software supporting large-scale subscriber management. Engineers can download the Unisphere-Data-Subscriber-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-Subscriber-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Unisphere Networks (later Juniper) ERX broadband edge router

Monitoring Examples

A test engineer certifying an ERX agent build would use this module to confirm required subscriber-management object groups are implemented, rather than an operator polling live data from it directly. No sample objects are provided since AGENT-CAPABILITIES modules define compliance requirements rather than runtime instances. Actual subscriber session counts, states, or per-subscriber statistics would be found in the companion Unisphere Subscriber data MIB this conformance statement references.
