Category: Juniper Unisphere ERX Conformance
Description: Defines Unisphere ERX PIM multicast routing MIB agent conformance groups and compliance statements.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Unisphere-Data-PIM-CONF?
Unisphere-Data-PIM-CONF is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance MIB module that documents which parts of the Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) standard MIB are implemented by the SNMP agent on Unisphere ERX routing switch products. Rather than defining its own runtime data objects, it declares capability statements describing the agent's support level for PIM-related groups and objects defined elsewhere. As such, it has no direct role in hardware/software status monitoring itself; its function is purely to inform management applications about implementation conformance so they know which PIM MIB objects are safe to poll on this platform. It is inherently dependent on the standard PIM MIB (and the base SNMP agent capabilities framework) that it describes conformance against. It is used internally by network management systems configuring PIM multicast monitoring on Unisphere ERX routing switches, rather than being polled directly for operational data. Engineers can download the Unisphere-Data-PIM-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Unisphere-Data-PIM-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Juniper Networks ERX Edge Routing Switch (originally Unisphere Networks, acquired by Juniper in 2002)
Monitoring Examples
This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance definition with no runtime data objects, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe; it exists solely to declare which objects and groups of the standard PIM MIB are supported by the Unisphere ERX agent. No sample objects were provided, consistent with this module's conformance-only nature.
