Description: Specifies objects for managing unstructured DS1 interfaces, covering status and performance monitoring of T1/E1 circuits.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is UDS1-MIB?

UDS1-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB, from the "usr"/"nas" OID branches suggesting a US Robotics/3Com-lineage network access server product, defining unstructured DS1 (T1/E1) interface configuration and management objects for digital circuit interfaces on remote-access/dial platforms. It exposes a configuration table covering per-DS1-line settings such as loopback response behavior, jitter attenuation, transmit line build-out, zero-code suppression, and dial-in/dial-out addressing and trunk-state parameters. Its monitoring emphasis is on circuit-level configuration and operational status for T1/E1 trunks: confirming line build-out and coding settings are correctly provisioned, and that dial-in/dial-out trunk state and address-acknowledgment settings are functioning, which affects whether dial sessions establish correctly over the T1/E1 span. It parallels and extends the standard DS1-MIB/RFC 1406 concept of unstructured (unchannelized) DS1 interfaces with vendor-specific dial/trunk parameters. It is deployed on network access server (NAS) equipment providing dial-in/dial-out T1/E1 connectivity, typically in remote-access/dial-up ISP or enterprise RAS environments, where this UDS1-MIB reference helps administrators keep T1/E1 trunk parameters correctly provisioned.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UDS1-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • US Robotics/3Com-lineage network access server (NAS) equipment with T1/E1 dial interfaces

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll uds1ConfigTable/uds1ConfigEntry (keyed by uds1CfgIndex) to check uds1CfgRespToRemoteLoopbk and uds1CfgJitterAttenuation settings when diagnosing signal-quality issues on a T1/E1 span, and review uds1CfgDialInOutTrunkSt alongside uds1CfgDialInAdrAckWinkEn to confirm dial-in trunk addressing and acknowledgment behavior are correctly configured for incoming calls. A misconfigured uds1CfgZeroCoding or uds1CfgXmitLineBuildOut value relative to the far-end/carrier's requirements is a common cause of T1/E1 sync or error-rate problems this table would help surface.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DS1/T1-E1 line build-out and coding configuration
  • loopback response setting
  • jitter attenuation setting
  • dial-in/dial-out trunk state
  • dial-in address acknowledgment configuration
