Description: Manages Ubiquoss device configuration management including save, restore, and version control.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is UBQS-CONFIG-MIB?
UBQS-CONFIG-MIB is a Ubiquoss vendor MIB that provides remote configuration-management mechanisms for an SNMP entity, letting a manager save, erase, or copy device configuration and manage configuration versions. It exposes configuration-lifecycle objects (ubiConfigErase, ubiConfigCopy) along with the standard notification and conformance branches for the module. Its monitoring/management value is software-configuration oriented: an operator uses it to trigger and verify configuration backup/restore operations and to be notified (via ubiConfigMIBNotificationPrefix-rooted traps) when a configuration erase or copy operation completes or fails, which is important for change-management auditing on the device. It conceptually parallels the standard SNMP-FRAMEWORK/agent configuration conventions but is implemented as a Ubiquoss-specific module rather than an IETF standard. It is deployed on Ubiquoss network devices (switches, OLTs) wherever remote configuration backup and restore via SNMP is required. Engineers can download the UBQS-CONFIG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in UBQS-CONFIG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ubiquoss switch
- Ubiquoss OLT
Monitoring Examples
An operator would set ubiConfigCopy to initiate copying the running or a saved configuration to another location (e.g. backup storage), and use ubiConfigErase to clear a stored configuration, then watch for a notification confirming success or failure of the operation. Repeated failed erase/copy attempts logged via the module's notifications would indicate a configuration-management problem on the device, such as insufficient storage or a locked configuration file.
What Can Be Monitored
- configuration save/copy status
- configuration erase status
- configuration change notifications
