Category: Link Layer and Ethernet Protocols

Description: Monitors TP-Link switch Ethernet OAM peer discovery information and remote entity capabilities.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TPLINK-ETHERNETOAMDISCINFO-MIB?

TPLINK-ETHERNETOAMDISCINFO-MIB is a TP-LINK proprietary MIB (extending TPLINK-ETHERNETOAM-MIB) reporting 802.3ah Ethernet OAM discovery information per port. Its table, keyed by port, records local OAM status/mode/max-OAMPDU-size, and remote-loopback/unidirectional/link-monitoring/variable-request/PDU-revision support, plus local operation/loopback status, alongside the equivalent remote-peer fields (mode, MAC address, vendor OUI, max OAMPDU, capability flags, PDU revision, vendor info). As a status MIB it lets an administrator confirm 802.3ah OAM capability negotiation with the link partner on a TP-LINK switch port. It is deployed on TP-LINK managed switches (Ethernet OAM discovery). Engineers can download the TPLINK-ETHERNETOAMDISCINFO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPLINK-ETHERNETOAMDISCINFO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • TP-LINK managed switches (Ethernet OAM discovery)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks ethernetOamDiscInfoRmtMode and ethernetOamDiscInfoLocOperationStatus to confirm 802.3ah OAM negotiation succeeded with the link partner on a TP-LINK switch port.

What Can Be Monitored
