What Is TPLINK-LLDP-MIB?

TPLINK-LLDP-MIB is a TP-Link vendor-specific MIB for configuring the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (IEEE 802.1AB) on managed switches, covering global enable state and per-port advertisement/reception control along with transmit timers. It's a configuration MIB for a discovery protocol, so its primary monitoring value is confirming the software feature is active as expected on the ports where topology visibility is needed. An administrator checks the global LLDP admin state and per-port transmit-enable objects to confirm LLDP advertisements are active on all uplink and access ports. Verifying the configured transmit interval and hold multiplier ensures neighbor timeout on a management console occurs at the expected rate. A port unexpectedly showing LLDP disabled would explain why a downstream device isn't appearing in the neighbor table reported by TPLINK-LLDPINFO-MIB.
