Access: read-write

Description: Reference bandwidth - In order to calculate the lowest cost to reach a given destination each configured level on each interface must have a cost. If the reference-bandwidth is defined then the cost is calculated using the following formula: Cost = reference-bandwidth / bandwidth. If the reference bandwidth is configured as Ten Gig (10,000,000,000) a 100-Mbps interface has a default metric of 100. In order for metrics in excess of 63 to be configured wide metrics must be deployed.

A value of '0' means that the reference bandwidth is not defined.

The maximum value of 1,000,000,000 Kbps amounts to one Terabit per second.

What is vRtrIsisReferenceBw?

The reference bandwidth (0-1,000,000,000 kbps) IS-IS divides by an interface's actual bandwidth to compute its default cost (cost = reference-bandwidth / bandwidth); a value of 0 means no reference bandwidth is set. An admin raises this (e.g. to 10 Gbps) on a network with very fast links so per-interface costs stay meaningfully differentiated instead of clamping at the same low value.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.10.1.1.1.13
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TIMETRA-ISIS-MIB::vRtrIsisReferenceBw

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.10.1.1.1.13.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TIMETRA-ISIS-MIB::vRtrIsisReferenceBw.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.10.1.1.1.13.1 i <value>
