Category: Broadcast and Cable TV Equipment

Description: Manages Teracom broadcast transmitter operational status, RF output power, modulation parameters, and alarm conditions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TERACOM-MIB?

This MIB module manages the Teracom TCW240 family of SNMP-enabled environmental and I/O monitoring units, often deployed in broadcast, telecom, and data-center facilities to watch equipment-room conditions. It exposes device identity (name, version, host name, device ID/IP), digital I/O state, and a set of configurable sensor inputs with per-sensor thresholds (maximum, minimum, and hysteresis values) used to trigger alarms on out-of-range readings. It is squarely a hardware-status/environmental monitoring MIB: it is used to watch temperature, humidity, or other analog sensor readings against configured thresholds and to track digital I/O (e.g., door contacts, relays) rather than any router traffic counters. There is no indication of dependency on other MIBs; it defines a self-contained object tree for the device. It is typically deployed in equipment racks, broadcast transmitter sites, or telecom huts as a standalone environmental/alarm monitoring appliance. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the TERACOM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TERACOM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teracom TCW240 environmental/I-O monitoring unit

Monitoring Examples

A facilities engineer would poll s1description alongside a sensor's live reading to identify which physical sensor (e.g., 'Room Temperature') is being reported, and compare it against s11MAXx10Int, s11MINx10Int, and s11HYSTx10Int to see the configured alarm thresholds and hysteresis band for that channel. A second channel's s12MAXx10Int/s12MINx10Int would be checked similarly for a different sensor input. The io and sensorsSetup branches let an admin confirm digital I/O line states and review or adjust the sensor configuration remotely, catching an environmental excursion before it damages nearby equipment.

What Can Be Monitored

  • sensor readings vs. configured max/min thresholds
  • hysteresis settings per sensor
  • digital I/O state
  • device identity (name/host/IP)
