What is hardwareErr?
This read-only enumeration (noErr(0)/owErr(1)/hwErr(2)) reports the device's hardware self-test status, where owErr flags a fault on the 1-Wire sensor bus and hwErr flags a more general hardware failure; an admin polls this to catch device-level faults before trusting any of its sensor readings.
