What Is TELDAT-TRAP-X252-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-X252-MIB defines the SNMP trap notifications generated by the X.25 (X252, X.25 version 2) event subsystem on Teldat routers. It exposes notification-only data, link/frame identifiers, address, and framing/control-bit details (e.g., poll/final bit) for each X.25 link level (x2521, x2522, x2523), carried as varbinds within trap PDUs rather than as polled tables. Its monitoring role is fault-oriented: it lets a trap receiver detect X.25 link-level protocol events and framing anomalies (bad frame, addressing, or P/F bit issues) as they happen on legacy X.25 WAN links, functioning as an event/fault feed rather than a performance or resource MIB. It depends on the broader Teldat notification framework (x252Notifications/x252EventsGroup) and is specific to Teldat's proprietary trap structure rather than a standard X.25 MIB. It is deployed on Teldat routers carrying legacy X.25 packet-switched WAN circuits, common in banking, retail, and utility networks still running X.25. Engineers can download the TELDAT-TRAP-X252-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-X252-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router (X.25/X252 WAN interface)

Monitoring Examples

A management station subscribed to x252Notifications would receive traps carrying x2521_address, x2521_frame, and x2521_bit_pf whenever the first X.25 link level reports a framing event, and similarly x2522_/x2523_ variables on the other link levels, including x2522_nr (receive sequence number). A burst of these traps with abnormal bit_pf or address values would indicate a flapping or misconfigured X.25 circuit rather than steady-state operation.

What Can Be Monitored

  • X.25 link-level framing events
  • X.25 address/frame identifiers
  • poll/final bit anomalies
  • receive sequence number faults
