Description: Specifies trap notifications for ISDN interface events on Teldat routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-ISDN-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-ISDN-MIB is a Teldat proprietary MIB that defines SNMP trap/notification objects generated by the ISDN event subsystem on Teldat routers. Rather than a polled data MIB, it is fault/event-oriented, exposing notification variable bindings such as call reference numbers, interface identifiers, channel numbers, and disconnect cause/cost codes across five numbered ISDN interface instances (isdn1 through isdn5). Its monitoring value is centered on faults and connectivity status -- alerting operators in real time when ISDN calls are established, dropped, or fail with a specific cause code, and tracking per-call cost -- rather than general hardware sensors like temperature or fan speed. It is a vendor-specific companion to Teldat's broader router MIB tree and assumes an underlying ISDN interface configuration MIB is also present on the device. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers using ISDN as a primary or backup WAN link, feeding a network management station's alarm/event console, where TELDAT-TRAP-ISDN-MIB SNMP monitoring supplies the real-time call-establishment and disconnect-cause detail for that console.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-ISDN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat router with ISDN WAN interface

Monitoring Examples

A monitoring system subscribed to isdnNotifications would receive traps carrying isdn5-cause and isdn5-cost whenever an ISDN call on interface 5 terminates, letting an operator distinguish a normal hangup from an abnormal disconnect and track call charges. isdn4-call-ref and isdn4-chan identify which specific call and B-channel triggered the event on interface 4. Because this MIB is trap-only, there are no continuously pollable status tables -- monitoring here means capturing and correlating incoming traps rather than periodic GET polling.

What Can Be Monitored

  • ISDN call establishment/teardown events
  • call reference and channel identifiers
  • disconnect cause codes
  • call cost
  • per-interface ISDN event notifications
