Description: Defines Teldat router SDLC (Synchronous Data Link Control) event trap notifications.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TELDAT-TRAP-SDLC-MIB?

TELDAT-TRAP-SDLC-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module from Teldat, a Spanish manufacturer of enterprise routers, and it is dedicated entirely to notifications generated by the router's SDLC (Synchronous Data Link Control) subsystem, a legacy IBM mainframe link protocol still bridged over some WAN routers. Rather than exposing polled counters, it defines a set of trap objects (per-line variables such as interface identifier, station address, status, and frame count) that are bundled into notification PDUs when an SDLC event occurs. In monitoring terms this is fault/event-oriented rather than resource-oriented: it lets an operator learn in near real time when a particular SDLC line or station changes interface state, address, or status, functioning as an early-warning mechanism for link-level SDLC failures rather than a source of hardware health metrics like temperature or CPU. It depends on the base TELDAT enterprise MIB tree and standard SNMPv2 notification conventions (NOTIFICATION-TYPE) for its trap definitions. It is typically deployed on Teldat routers that still terminate legacy SDLC/mainframe links inside otherwise modern WAN environments, feeding an NMS trap receiver for legacy-protocol fault alerting, and administrators supporting these routers typically start with a TELDAT-TRAP-SDLC-MIB download to load its trap definitions into their NMS.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TELDAT-TRAP-SDLC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Teldat WAN router
  • Teldat router with legacy SDLC/SNA interface module

Monitoring Examples

A network operations team would configure their trap receiver to catch notifications carrying objects like sdlc7-status and sdlc7-interface, alerting them the instant SDLC line 7 transitions to a fault or disconnect state. Fields such as sdlc2-address and sdlc8-count let the operator correlate which SDLC station address and frame count were active at the moment of the event, aiding root-cause diagnosis of a flapping legacy link. Because the MIB is trap-only, there is no polling table to walk; monitoring value comes entirely from subscribing to sdlcNotifications and inspecting the bound variables in each received trap.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SDLC interface identifier per event
  • SDLC station address
  • SDLC line/interface status changes
  • SDLC frame/event count
  • SDLC subsystem trap notifications
